Clipper Sailing Ship Weathervane
Vintage American Folk Art
Aged and Weathered to Perfection
We are offering up a truly amazing piece of Folk Art. This Clipper Sailing Ship is handcrafted from sturdy sheet metal, iron rods and iron wire.
Three tall iron masts are joined with iron rigging stays.
Square metal sails and flags rise up out of the hand-cut and hammered sheet metal Clipper body.
The aging and weathering on this piece of art is fantastic. The rust on the iron pops with deep brownish red. This ship has spent years outside, giving it a fantastic weathered patina.
(It came to us full of the remnants of a former life; i.e. cobwebs, dirt, crispy spiders, etc.)
It is attached to what was once the base of the weathervane, but the iron rod snapped off at some point in its life.

Local Pick-Up:

Purchases must be paid in full via eBay prior to pick-up. Items will be held up to 10 days. After 10 days without pick-up, the order will be refunded and relisted for sale.
