Here is a
Rare Charming Old Handmade Folk Art Pheasant Weathervane
retaining much of its original painted surface as pictured.
We can't recall ever seeing another comparable Pheasant Weathervane.
This double-sided example was hand carved from a single piece of wood forming head, body & tail.
Please note: Vane weathered from many years of service, and shows age crackelure, paint loss, flakes, etc.
Fashioned from
solid wood, without cracks, with beak chip on one side and possibly one tail feather lost to storms and a couple others chipped, hard to notice in photos, but worth noting. Expected character marks, dents, dings, etc, nothing major.
Also no NSEW directionals as found, and is sold as pictured.
Overall Dimensions: Length 28-1/2" X Height 14" X Depth 7/8".
Vane from an estate where it was previously displayed via picture hangar wire secured to one side, check photos. Buyer's choice to display as found.
