Old Weathervane Handpainted With Villge.This really is a great piece . I definitely believe it to be a one of a kind . There are so many things pictured in this weathervane from the top to the bottom and from side to side . It features what looks to be a small village .with the sun shining down casting a rainbow over a castle and a cloud blowing wind over a mountain top in the top right corner then below is a lady gathering water for her house with a hen in the lower corner . Below the castle is a road with a horse drawn wagon carrying villagers with a fox watching from the side. The opposite side features a bird with a crown on its head . All of this on a metal plate that turns with the wind connected to an iron rod that is spindled with detail featuring the traditional North South East and West . Even the letters have detail to the edges giving the entire piece great character and charm. We are not sure of the exact age but are lead to believe possibly the late 1890’s to the early teens . The painting is very old but still in good condition. We think that it should possibly be sealed with some sort of clear coat or something in order to preserve it .we tried to capture the details in the photos but it truly is amazing in person .
