    Snow Guard / Antique Cast Iron Snow Eagles
    We're pleased to offer for sale a wonderful piece of Early Americana.
    Here are two cast iron snow eagles - snow guard,
    they are called "snow birds".
    They came from New Jersey and were probably made in the early 1900's. These were attached to the edge of a roof to catch snow and ice, were used on the edge line of steep roof tops to hold and break up the snow that becomes built up on roof tops
    A wonderful piece of Early Americana.
    Each of the eagles stand 5 1/4" high and has a wingspan of 6 ¾ inches . Their bodies are 1" deep and the base is 2 1/2" deep, used to secure him to the roof top.
    They are all in excellent antique condition, with a nice surface from age and use,
    has wonderful old primitive patina.
