Antique Vintage Mercury Glass, smooth, 5 inch diameter and with metal sleeve intact.  The shiny Silver finish has small spots, speckles & freckles here and there (see photos).  No breaks, cracks, or chips. It is very hard to get a photograph without me reflected in the photo, sorry about that. The diameter of the Chrome shiny Silver Mercury grass lightning rod ball is 5 in, the diameter of the inside of the opening for the lightning rod is exactly 1 inch.
