7 antique Glass Awning Rings, Handmade. None Identical.These glass rings are often thought to be strain insulators. They were actually used to support awnings where the glass would slide on the metal supporting poles and the metal would attach to the awning. An article from "Radio News" in December 1924 recommends using these inexpensive awning rings for radio strains. This may be why people frequently assume they were intended for that purpose." ...National Insulator Association.
These were dusty and dirty. Cleaned up real nice.
